June 2024 letter - manifesting

setting our goals for your life

What if you decided that this year, instead of letting things just happen, you would take some time to plan your life. You would plan each day as much as you can and stay aware of you thoughts and energy as much as you can, manifesting things and experiences into your life this way. This is my goal for the rest of this year.

When you learn more about manifesting, you realise that you are constantly manifesting in your daily life. If you believe you can, you can. If you think something is not possible for you, it isn’t. The only difference between someone who is successful and someone who isn’t, is just their beliefs. When you work towards something and work on your beliefs, you can turn anything into a success.

A good way to start, is by writing down all your goals into your diary. Make a long list of all your desires and really think about how you want to feel.

Write down all your desires, a list of things and experiences that you want to manifest. Our mind is such a fast computer, the fastest that ever was, so it does get bored easily. For this reason, to avoid getting bored, our mind needs a long list of things we want to manifest. Write down at least 20 things onto your list. This could be anything, financial freedom, health, happiness, any physical things such as a new car or a house, or perhaps new friends, a soulmate, a new job.

List all those feelings/emotions you will have as a result. How will you feel once your dreams have come true.

Of course there is some action we always need to do, in order to receive. But when we are open to receive, we will find opportunities which will help us get closer to our goals. For example if we want a new business, we would have to work to build the business, but we would find good opportunities, meet the right people to help take our business forward and so on.

You can manifest absolutely anything you want. Some experts say however, that it is better to manifest experiences and things, rather than money. Because for our mind, money is just paper or digits on the computer, so rather manifest experiences such as financial freedom, or other things or experiences you could have with money. Also if you manifest abundance, remember that abundance means many things, abundance of friends, abundance of love, abundance of material possessions, financial abundance. Be specific about what abundance means to you and write them down.

Be specific also when manifesting a soul mate. You want a compatible soulmate. You can list characteristics you’d like your soulmate to have, and then becoming that person yourself first is a good start. You will then attract similar people into your life. People in your life are a reflection of you or your thoughts.

Health is an always excellent goal thing to be added to the list, but remember, this comes with being ready to see and receive opportunities to take you further to this goal. You have to accept some action from your part, just like I have said previously. Saying this, I believe that once you feel good in your self, and look after your mindset well, you will prefer healthier food more and also enjoy some form of exercise as it will increase you feeling good.

As we have discussed before, it is sometimes difficult to be positive as we have, even genetically been programmed into certain beliefs and thoughts, but it is very important to stay positive, feel positive, for your manifesting to work. This about the energy you are sending out! It will take some practice, but observe yourself and your thoughts as much as you can and you will get better and better in this. You can do this!

Remember

  • Being negative and saying negative things can prevent us from manifesting what we want.

  • In order to manifest desired outcomes we need to know what we want. This is why the list is important.

  • When universe gives you something, you will want to give back. You can manifest more kindness and compassion or the ability to help others in your community

gratitude

Once you have written your list of your desires, write down a list of things you are grateful for. Write down anything you can think of, but at least 10 different things. It could be your children, family, your warm bed, snow, sunshine outside, your pet, your health, anything that you feel grateful for today.

When you do this, you actually change the chemistry in your body immediately. You have more serotonin, dopamine etc in your your body, which leads to better emotions and energy which again increases your manifesting.

energy

Just a few more words about our energy. Our energy attracts it’s likeness. When we emit high vibration energy, gratitude, kindness, love, joy, we are constantly attracting high vibration people and circumstances into our life. And of course, when we emit low vibration energy, we attract low vibration situations into our life.

We need to remember though, that we are humans with different emotions. We do get times when we feel low, sad, angry etc. It is not about reacting to different situations with anger for example, it’s all about how long you react. The key is to become aware, notice your negative thoughts and patterns. Every time you notice negative thoughts, notice these with kindness, with acceptance and forgiveness, then let them go. This means thanking your negative thoughts for showing you what you don’t want and giving you the opportunity to change. Then choose the next best feeling / thought you would prefer instead. For me, the best way to do this, is to sit down and close my eyes for a while. I sometimes just say thank you, for the opportunity to change. Thank you thank you thank you. I let this feeling pass and focus on something better, until I can feel better.

If you consciously choose the next best thought you can, then you will begin to learn about how to raise your vibration.

I wanted to share two recipes for you to try. I have been studying Ayurveda.
Ayurveda, holistic system of wellbeing is from India, is believed to be some 3 to 5,000 years old. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge) and so, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life. It believes that disease is due to an imbalance or stress in a person's consciousness, and so Ayurveda encourages certain lifestyle interventions and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the environment. I will be talking more about this later, but wanted to share a few recipes that I have collected while studying.

Ayurveda uses many lovely spices with healing properties and because of the many spices, ayurvedic dishes are so tasty.

Here are two of my new favourites, fish tikka with vegetable stir fry and warm spiced porridge with stewed apples. Obviously be careful with porridge if suffering from insulin resistance.

Both recipes are for 2 people

fish tikka with vegetable stir fry

2 fillets of white fish such as cod or haddock
1 pak choi quartered lengthways
1 fennel trimmed and cut into long slices

2 large carrots, grated
1 tbsp black mustard seeds
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground turmeric
2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2—3 tbsp butter or ghee
1 lime or lemon

Mix the ginger, turmeric, garam masala, black pepper, salt and cumin together. Combine with 1 tablespoon of butter/ghee and the juice of lemon/ lime to make a paste, adding small amount of water if needed.

Coat the fish in this paste and marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight. When you are ready to cook, bring the fish to room temperature.

Preheat the oven to 180.C (fan 160.C). In a large pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter/ghee over a medium heat and sear the pak choi until golden, then season with a little salt and pepper and set aside.

Place the fish on a baking tray and bake for about 15 minutes or until the fish is cooked, adding the pak choi for the last 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, melt the rest of the butter/ghee in the same pan, then add the fennel. When it is lightly browned, add the mustard seeds and cook until they just start to pop. Add the grated carrot, season and stir-fry for a few minutes, until just tender. Place the fish onto plates, add the vegetables and squeeze over the juice of lime. Enjoy.

warm spiced porridge with stewed apples

1/4 tsp ground cardamom

1/4 tsp cinnamon

Porridge ingredients:

1 tsp of butter/ghee

1/4 tsp of turmeric

1 cup of rolled oats

2 cups of milk (or water)

Peel the apples if you prefer/the skin is thick/tough. Then cut them into cubes. Heat the butter/ghee and saute the fruit for a minute or two. Add the spices, salt and water. Simmer for about 15 minutes on a low/medium heat adding more water if needed.

Meanwhile, in another pot, add the butter/ghee and roast the oats for 2 minutes at medium temperature. Add the milk, bring to boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Add the turmeric and simmer with the lid on at low temperature for 2-3 more minutes, adding more milk if needed.
